Palopo – The Faculty of Medicine at the Indonesian Muslim University (FK UMI) continues to demonstrate its commitment to supporting the improvement of medical education quality through mentoring of affiliated medical faculties. One such effort was realized through an Outcome-Based Education (OBE)-Based Curriculum Update Workshop held at the Faculty of Medicine, Kurnia Jaya Persada University.

This event is part of efforts to strengthen the quality of medical education, particularly in the development and updating of curricula oriented toward graduate learning outcomes. Through this mentoring, FK UMI plays a role in sharing experience and expertise to support the development of curricula that align with the needs of medical education.

The Outcome-Based Education (OBE) approach emphasizes the learning outcomes that students must master upon completing their education. Therefore, curriculum updates must be carried out in a targeted manner, taking into account the interrelationship between graduate profiles, learning outcomes, the learning process, and the evaluation methods used.

Through this workshop, it is hoped that the Faculty of Medicine at Kurnia Jaya Persada University can further strengthen the development and implementation of an OBE-based curriculum. This process also serves as an opportunity to improve alignment between instructional planning, the implementation of academic activities, and the evaluation of students’ competency attainment.

The guidance provided by the UMI Faculty of Medicine reflects the importance of collaboration among medical education institutions in maintaining and improving academic quality. The synergy between the UMI Faculty of Medicine and the affiliated medical faculties is expected to support the development of high-quality, structured medical education that is oriented toward graduate competencies.

Through this initiative, the UMI Faculty of Medicine continues to strengthen its role in the development of medical education and promotes the realization of continuous improvement in the quality of learning within the affiliated medical education institutions.
