Bachelor of Medicine

The UMI Faculty of Medicine’s Bachelor of Medicine program is designed to build a strong foundation in medical science and foster professional character in future doctors from the very beginning of their education.

To produce medical graduates with a strong foundation in community medicine who are competent, dignified, grounded in Islamic values, and dedicated to serving humanity for the benefit of the people, the nation, and the state, with the goal of becoming a world-class university.

• Medical Graduate: A young doctor capable of providing holistic and comprehensive healthcare services based on the best scientific evidence, guided by professionalism, faith, and piety toward Allah SWT, and possessing strong character, ethics, and integrity.
• Decision-Maker: Able to view situations holistically, analyze them keenly, think logically, and make quick and accurate decisions.
• Communicator: Able to communicate effectively and empathetically when explaining health issues and related matters to patients, families, and the community.
• Leader: Possesses leadership skills, thinks systematically, acts with integrity, and is able to identify and resolve problems by optimizing existing potential.
• Manager: Possesses managerial skills to process information, work collaboratively in a team, and apply management principles in their professional duties.
• Researcher: Thinks critically and creatively, possesses scientific and information technology literacy, and is able to utilize research findings to address public health issues.
• Muhsin: Understands the concepts of faith, Islam, and ihsan; applies moral values in professional practice; and resolves issues based on fiqh within the framework of Sharia.

• Semester 1 (Fall): Orientation, Public Health, Biomedical Sciences I, Bioethics and Professionalism.
• Semester 2 (Spring): Basic Mechanisms of Disease, Immunology, Endocrinology and Metabolism, Reproductive System, and other related courses.
• Semesters 3, 5, and 7: In-depth study of organ systems, tropical medicine, community medicine, Community Service Program (KKN), and thesis.

• Academic mentoring through faculty advisors.
• Student services, soft skills development, and Islamic character building.
• Support for student academic activities and strengthening research literacy.

• Admission of new students follows the official admission process of the UMI Faculty of Medicine.
