Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program

The UMI Faculty of Medicine was established in 1992 and has produced thousands of alumni who are active in various regions of Indonesia. The Obstetrics and Gynecology Postgraduate Program was developed to strengthen the capacity of maternal and reproductive health services through structured, collaborative, and quality-oriented clinical education.

To produce high-quality obstetricians and gynecologists who embody Islamic values and excel in providing holistic and comprehensive community-based healthcare services in the fields of reproductive health and nutrition.

• To produce competent, professional, and ethical obstetrics and gynecology specialists capable of providing comprehensive reproductive health care. To advance science and technology through relevant and applied research. To strengthen community service efforts addressing reproductive health issues. To build sustainable national and international collaborative networks.

• Obstetrics and Gynecology Specialist (Clinical Expert): provides holistic, comprehensive, evidence-based reproductive and maternal health care for women, while upholding Islamic ethics and values. Decision-Maker: thinks systematically and analytically to make clinical decisions that are swift, accurate, and accountable. Communicator: communicates effectively and empathetically with patients, families, colleagues, and other professionals. Leader: leads the healthcare team with integrity and strategic problem-solving. Manager: manages healthcare resources effectively. Researcher: Conducts relevant research in obstetrics and gynecology and applies the findings to improve the quality of care. Muhsin: Practices the values of faith, Islam, and ihsan, as well as the principles of fiqh, in medical decision-making.

• Training for the specialist education phase and orientation at the teaching hospital.
• Subspecialty rotations, scientific conferences, and scheduled case presentations.
• Clinical competency evaluations, stage exams, and specialist logbook assessments.
• Research seminars, scientific publications, and final program exams.

• Services for students include academic support, ongoing clinical supervision, professional development and ethics training, and the strengthening of communication and interprofessional collaboration skills.

• Admission to the Obstetrics and Gynecology Postgraduate Program (PPDS) follows the official regulations of the UMI Faculty of Medicine through an academic and administrative selection process in accordance with the schedule announced on the faculty’s official channels.

• Graduates work as obstetricians and gynecologists in primary, secondary, and tertiary healthcare facilities; they serve as clinicians, service leaders, reproductive health program managers, researchers, and clinical educators.
