Jakarta – The Faculty of Medicine at the Indonesian Muslim University (FK UMI) participated in the Jakarta Meeting on Medical Education (JAKMED) 2026, held on October 23–24, 2026, in Jakarta. Faculty members and department heads from FK UMI attended the event as part of efforts to strengthen the development of medical education and improve the quality of teaching and learning.

The participation of FK UMI faculty members and department heads in this forum provided an opportunity to broaden their academic horizons and keep abreast of developments in the field of medical education. This participation also reflects FK UMI’s commitment to continuously promote the improvement of educators’ competencies and strengthen educational governance within the faculty.

Medical education is a process that requires continuous development—whether in terms of curriculum, teaching methods, competency assessment, or student mentoring systems. Therefore, the involvement of faculty members and department heads in medical education forums is a strategic step toward enriching academic perspectives and supporting improvements in the quality of learning.

Faculty members play a crucial role in designing and implementing learning processes that align with students’ needs and advancements in medical science. Meanwhile, department heads are responsible for supporting academic coordination and the development of learning within their respective fields of study. The synergy between these two elements is vital for maintaining educational quality and ensuring that the learning process proceeds in a focused and directed manner.

Through their participation in JAKMED 2026, participants from the UMI Faculty of Medicine are expected to gain valuable insights and experiences to support the development of medical education at their institution. The knowledge gained from this forum is also expected to serve as a basis for evaluating and improving teaching practices, curriculum development, and an education system focused on graduate competencies.

The UMI Faculty of Medicine’s participation in this event is also part of the faculty’s commitment to building an academic culture that is adaptable to advancements in science and the needs of healthcare services. Strengthening the capacity of faculty members and department heads is expected to support the creation of a high-quality, collaborative, and sustainable educational environment.

Through its involvement in JAKMED 2026, the UMI Faculty of Medicine continues to promote improvements in the quality of medical education through human resource capacity building and the enhancement of academic quality. These efforts are expected to support the production of competent, professional, and ethical medical graduates who are capable of contributing to the improvement of public health.
