Makassar – The Faculty of Medicine at the Indonesian Muslim University (FK UMI) is participating in the organization of the Pre-Conference Writing Workshop on Medical and Health Sciences as part of the International Conference on Health Science and Technology (ICoHST) 2026. This event will take place on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at the Prof. Dr. Razak Datu Auditorium, 2nd Floor, FK UMI, Makassar, South Sulawesi.
The workshop focused on three main fields—Health, Science, and Technology—reflecting the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in the advancement of science and innovation. In the field of health, topics covered public health, clinical practice, and community-based research. The field of science covered biotechnology, life sciences, and applied sciences. Meanwhile, the field of technology focused on digital health, artificial intelligence, and innovation.
This event was organized through a collaboration between Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), the Faculty of Medicine at Universitas Muslim Indonesia, the Faculty of Computer Science at Universitas Muslim Indonesia, and the University of Cyberjaya. This joint event is part of efforts to strengthen academic cooperation and support the development of research and scientific publications in the fields of health, science, and technology.
The Pre-Conference Writing Workshop is designed as a platform to support the improvement of scientific writing skills for participants involved in academia and research. The ability to compose scientific works that are well-structured, clear, and in accordance with academic standards is a crucial aspect of communicating research findings to the scientific community, both nationally and internationally.
In the increasingly dynamic field of medicine and health sciences, scientific publications play a strategic role in disseminating research findings, enriching the academic literature, and fostering the exchange of knowledge among institutions. Therefore, strengthening scientific writing skills is a crucial step toward improving research quality and expanding academics’ contributions to the advancement of science.
Furthermore, the involvement of the science and technology sectors in this workshop underscores the importance of a multidisciplinary approach in addressing today’s health challenges. Advances in biotechnology, artificial intelligence, and digital health technologies open opportunities for various innovations that can support research, education, and health care services. Mastering scientific writing skills also helps researchers communicate these findings and innovations in a systematic and accountable manner.
For the UMI Faculty of Medicine, organizing this event is part of its efforts to strengthen academic culture, enhance research capacity, and expand international collaboration networks. Collaboration with partner institutions is expected to create opportunities for the exchange of ideas and experiences, while also encouraging the academic community to continue developing their competencies in research and scientific publication.
This event was also supported by the Waqf and Zakat Center as a sponsor. This support is part of the broader involvement of various stakeholders in supporting academic activities focused on the advancement of knowledge and the improvement of human resource quality.
Through the Pre-Conference Writing Workshop on Medicine, Health, and Science, the UMI Faculty of Medicine, together with its partner institutions, hopes to continue fostering the production of high-quality, innovative scientific works that benefit society. This event also serves as a step toward strengthening the contribution of higher education institutions to the development of health sciences, science, and technology through collaboration and sustained scientific publication.
