Makassar – The Faculty of Medicine at the Indonesian Muslim University (FK UMI) held an Open Senate Meeting in conjunction with the Graduation Ceremony and Oath-Taking for Medical Undergraduates, as well as the Graduation Ceremony and Medical Oath-Taking, on Monday, October 5, 2026.

The event, which took place from 8:00 a.m. WITA until completion, was held at the Phinisi 1 Ballroom of the Claro Hotel in Makassar and was attended by the leadership, senate members, faculty, and the academic community of the UMI Faculty of Medicine.

This Open Senate Meeting marked an important milestone in the academic journey of UMI Faculty of Medicine students. Through the graduation ceremony, students were officially recognized as having completed their educational requirements in accordance with applicable academic regulations before proceeding to the next stage of their medical careers.

In addition to the graduation ceremony, the event also featured the recitation of the Medical Doctor’s Oath by students who have completed their Bachelor of Medicine degree. This oath serves as a symbol of their commitment to practicing medicine with full responsibility, integrity, and a deep respect for human values.

Meanwhile, the recitation of the Physician’s Oath marked a historic moment for the new doctors from the UMI Faculty of Medicine who had completed all stages of their professional education. The oath signified their readiness to assume the responsibilities of a physician and to provide healthcare services to the community in a professional and ethical manner.

This event also served as an opportunity for the UMI Faculty of Medicine to convey a message and offer encouragement to the graduates, urging them to always uphold the good name of their alma mater and apply the knowledge they gained during their education.

As a medical education institution, the UMI Faculty of Medicine remains committed to producing graduates who not only possess scientific competence and clinical skills but also demonstrate integrity, professionalism, social responsibility, and Islamic values in the practice of their profession.

This Open Senate Meeting is expected to mark the beginning of the graduates’ continued service to the community. This graduation ceremony, along with the recitation of the doctors’ pledges and oaths, reaffirms the UMI Faculty of Medicine’s commitment to continuing to produce generations of doctors who are competent, professional, of noble character, and dedicated to humanity.
