Makassar – The Faculty of Medicine at the Indonesian Muslim University (FK UMI) held a ceremony to present official appointment letters to the new department heads and department secretaries within the FK UMI, as part of efforts to strengthen the faculty’s academic and institutional governance.

The ceremony took place on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, in Meeting Room 501 on the 5th floor of the FK UMI building, and was attended by the Associate Deans of the FK UMI, Program Chairs (KPS), Program Secretaries (SPS), as well as the Heads and Secretaries of Units within the UMI Faculty of Medicine.

The appointments of the Department Chairs and Department Secretaries were established through the Rector’s Decision of the University of Muslim Indonesia No. 3524/H.25/UMI/IX/2026 regarding the Appointment of Department Chairs and Department Secretaries of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Muslim Indonesia, for the period 2026–2030.

In this decree, Department Chairs and Department Secretaries are entrusted with leading, coordinating, and organizing academic and administrative activities in their respective departments in accordance with applicable regulations.

This appointment covers 25 departments within the UMI Faculty of Medicine, ranging from the Departments of Anatomy, Biochemistry, Physiology, Parasitology, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Histology, Anatomical Pathology, and Clinical Pathology, to clinical departments such as Internal Medicine, Radiology, Surgery, Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Anesthesiology and Intensive Care, Dermatology, Venereology, and Aesthetics, as well as Cardiology and Vascular Medicine.

Strengthening this departmental structure is expected to support the smooth operation of academic and administrative activities, as well as scientific development within the UMI Faculty of Medicine. The Department Chairs and Department Secretaries play a crucial role in coordinating various activities within their respective fields of study.

Through the appointment of these new officials, the UMI Faculty of Medicine remains committed to strengthening institutional governance and improving the quality of medical education. Synergy among the faculty leadership, departments, study programs, and work units is expected to create an increasingly effective work system and support the achievement of the UMI Faculty of Medicine’s vision and goals.

With their new mandates for the 2026–2030 term, the Department Chairs and Department Secretaries are expected to carry out their duties with a strong sense of responsibility, professionalism, and a spirit of collaboration for the advancement of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Muslim Indonesia.
