UMI Faculty of Medicine Dean Elected as President of AMDA Indonesia, Strengthens Role in Health and Humanitarian Networks

The Dean of the UMI Faculty of Medicine, Dr. dr. H. Andi Nasrudin Mappaware, was elected President of AMDA Indonesia, strengthening the UMI Faculty of Medicine’s role in health, education, and humanitarian service networks at both the national and international levels.

Makassar – The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the Indonesian Muslim University (FK UMI), Dr. dr. H. Andi Nasrudin Mappaware, Sp.OG, Subsp. Obginos, MARS, M.Sc, FISQua, AIFO-K, FISOG, has been elected and entrusted with the responsibility of serving as President of the Association of Medical Doctors of Asia (AMDA) Indonesia.

The election of the FK UMI Dean marks an important step in strengthening the role and contribution of FK UMI within health and humanitarian networks, both nationally and internationally. This mandate also reflects confidence in his capacity and commitment to fostering collaboration in the health sector and community service.

In this role, the President of AMDA Indonesia has the opportunity to promote various forms of collaboration in the fields of health services, education, community service, and humanitarian activities. This aligns with the efforts of the UMI Faculty of Medicine, which has long been active in various health service initiatives and humanitarian missions across numerous regions in Indonesia.

This trust also strengthens the relationship between the UMI Faculty of Medicine and the AMDA network, which has long been involved in various joint humanitarian activities. Previous collaboration between the UMI Faculty of Medicine and AMDA has been realized through a number of healthcare and community service initiatives, including the participation of faculty and student teams in humanitarian missions in disaster-affected areas.

As part of the medical education community, the UMI Faculty of Medicine continues to promote the development of networks and cross-institutional collaboration. The election of the Dean of the UMI Faculty of Medicine as President of AMDA Indonesia is expected to open up broader opportunities for cooperation and contribute to the development of health programs that have a positive impact on society.

This mandate also serves as a catalyst for the UMI Faculty of Medicine to further strengthen the spirit of “Dedicatio Pro Humanitate”—dedication to humanity. With this new mandate, the UMI Faculty of Medicine is expected to continue expanding its national and international collaborative networks and to launch various programs that contribute to improving health and humanitarian conditions.
