Palopo – The Faculty of Medicine at the Indonesian Muslim University (FK UMI), together with Ibnu Sina YW-UMI, and Sawerigading Palopo Regional General Hospital, conducted a visit and renewed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on August 12–14, 2026, in Palopo.
The event, held under the theme “Synergy for the Nation: FK UMI Road to Palopo!”, was part of efforts to strengthen collaboration between medical education institutions and healthcare facilities in support of improving the quality of education and healthcare services.
The visit and renewal of the Tripartite MoU served as an opportunity to evaluate and strengthen the existing collaboration between the UMI Faculty of Medicine, Ibnu Sina YW-UMI Hospital, and Sawerigading Palopo Regional General Hospital. The synergy among these three institutions is expected to contribute to the development of medical education, the enhancement of student and healthcare worker competencies, and the strengthening of healthcare services for the community.
The Makassar–Palopo–Makassar trip also included a visit to the Palopo Medical Practice Training Center (UKJP) and several strategic partners. These meetings provided an opportunity to strengthen institutional ties while opening up broader avenues for collaboration in the fields of education, health, and community service.
In addition, the UMI Faculty of Medicine delegation paid a courtesy visit to the Baiturahman H. Lawe Zam Zam Center Mosque in Barru. This activity was part of a journey aimed not only at strengthening institutional cooperation but also at deepening relationships and fostering a sense of togetherness in the spirit of Islam.
Through this initiative, the UMI Faculty of Medicine continues to foster sustainable collaboration among educational institutions, hospitals, and various strategic partners. It is hoped that this established cooperation will support the creation of a high-quality medical education ecosystem while delivering increasingly optimal healthcare services to the community.
The FK UMI “Road to Palopo” event exemplifies the commitment of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Muslim Indonesia to continuously expand its network, strengthen partnerships, and provide excellent medical education grounded in Islamic values.
Together, we are strengthening synergy and improving the quality of Islamic healthcare and medical education to provide broader benefits to the community.
