MAKASSAR – The Faculty of Medicine at the University of Muslim Indonesia (FK UMI) hosted the Inauguration and Working Meeting of the Executive Board of the Asian Medical Students’ Association at the University of Muslim Indonesia (AMSA UMI) for the 2026–2027 term, on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at the Teleconference Auditorium & Meeting Room on the 5th floor of the UMI Faculty of Medicine.
This event marked an important milestone in the leadership transition process and served as the first step for the 2026–2027 AMSA UMI executive board in fulfilling the organization’s mandate for the coming term.
The inauguration also served as an opportunity to strengthen AMSA UMI’s role as one of the medical student organizations that provides a platform for students to develop their academic, leadership, and communication skills, as well as their ability to work in teams, and to expand their networks in the fields of health and medicine.
Following the inauguration ceremony, the event continued with a Working Meeting of the AMSA UMI Executive Board for the 2026–2027 term. The working meeting served as a forum for the entire executive board to formulate and align the programs to be implemented over the next term.
Various proposed activities and work programs were discussed as part of efforts to deliver innovative, educational, and beneficial initiatives for both UMI Faculty of Medicine students and the broader community.
Through this working meeting, each executive board member is expected to establish effective coordination and strengthen collaboration in carrying out every planned program. Synergy among members is one of the keys to realizing an active, professional, and sustainable organization.
The 2026–2027 AMSA UMI executive board is also expected to continue providing opportunities for students to broaden their knowledge and gain experience in the fields of medicine, public health, research, community service, and to build networks with medical students at the national and international levels.
The inauguration and working meeting also serve as a manifestation of the UMI Faculty of Medicine’s support for developing students’ potential through positive and productive organizational activities, so that students not only grow academically but also develop leadership, communication, collaboration, and social awareness skills.
With the formation of the new executive board, AMSA UMI for the 2026–2027 term is expected to bring new enthusiasm and innovation and make tangible contributions to supporting the advancement of the UMI Faculty of Medicine as a leading medical education institution with Islamic values, an international reputation, and a positive impact on society.
