Banten – The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the Indonesian Muslim University (FK UMI), Dr. dr. H. Nasrudin AM, Sp.OG(K)., Subsp.Obginsos., MARS., M.Sc., FISQua., AIFO-K, once again demonstrated his national influence by serving as a speaker at the Controversy Session 5 Symposium as part of the 28th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Indonesian Obstetrics and Gynecology Association (PIT POGI) 2026, held on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, in Banten.
On this occasion, Dr. dr. H. Nasrudin AM presented a session titled “Controversies in OB/GYN Daily: Adolescent Contraceptive Clinical Care in Socio-Culturally Diverse Indonesia.” This topic addressed various challenges in providing contraceptive services to adolescents in Indonesia, a country with diverse social, cultural, and value systems that must be taken into account in healthcare practice.
This symposium was part of the 28th POGI Annual Scientific Meeting (PIT), which carried the overarching theme “Integrating Innovation and Equity: Advancing Women’s Health in the Era of Artificial Intelligence.” This theme highlights the importance of leveraging innovation and technology—including artificial intelligence (AI)—to improve the quality of women’s healthcare services in an equitable and sustainable manner.
In addition to discussing the transformation of healthcare services through technology, the 2026 POGI Annual Scientific Meeting also addressed several strategic issues, including the impact of non-obstetric comorbidities on women’s health and pregnancy, as well as efforts to accelerate the elimination of cervical cancer as part of national and global agendas to improve women’s health.
The trust placed in the Dean of the UMI Faculty of Medicine to serve as a speaker at the symposium session demonstrates recognition of his expertise and contributions to the advancement of obstetrics and gynecology in Indonesia. As a member of the Central Executive Board of the Indonesian Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology (POGI), Dr. dr. H. Nasrudin AM has consistently played an active role in various scientific forums, medical education, research, and the development of maternal and child health services.
The active participation of the Dean of the UMI Faculty of Medicine in this national-scale scientific forum also reflects the commitment of the University of Muslim Indonesia’s Faculty of Medicine to supporting the advancement of scientific knowledge, enhancing the competencies of healthcare professionals, and strengthening academic collaboration with various institutions and professional organizations. The Faculty of Medicine at UMI’s presence in national scientific forums is expected to make a tangible contribution to the advancement of medical education while strengthening the institution’s reputation both nationally and internationally.
