MAKASSAR – The Indonesian Muslim University (UMI) Faculty of Medicine Student Association (KBMFK UMI) held its two-day Work Meeting (RAKER) for the 2026–2027 term on June 27–28, 2026, at the AAS Building in Makassar.

The opening of the RAKER was attended by the Dean of the UMI Faculty of Medicine, Dr. dr. Nasrudin Andi Mappaware, Sp.OG(K)., Subsp.Obginsos., MARS., M.Sc., FISQua., AIFO-K., as well as the Third Associate Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Partnerships at the UMI Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Muh. Wirawan Harahap, MARS, Sp.An.Ti., FISQua., AIFO-K. The presence of the faculty leadership serves as a tangible form of support for strengthening student organizations as strategic partners of the faculty in creating an active, productive, and innovative academic environment.

In his remarks, the Dean of the UMI Faculty of Medicine stated that student organizations play a vital role in shaping leadership character, enhancing organizational skills, and providing a space for students to develop their potential beyond academic activities.

He expressed hope that all work programs designed during the RAKER would not merely be ceremonial but would provide tangible benefits to students, the faculty, and the community through innovative, collaborative activities aligned with the vision and mission of the UMI Faculty of Medicine.

Meanwhile, the Third Associate Dean of the UMI Faculty of Medicine emphasized the importance of synergy among student organizations in realizing high-quality and sustainable programs. He also urged all executive members to use the RAKER as an opportunity to build effective communication, strengthen a sense of responsibility, and foster a professional work culture.

The RAKER was attended by the executive boards of the Student Executive Board (BEM), the Student Representative Council (DPM), and all student institutions and organizations within the UMI Faculty of Medicine. Over the course of the two-day event, participants discussed and evaluated various draft work programs, aligned agendas across departments, and set priorities for activities to be carried out during the 2026–2027 term.

Through constructive discussions filled with a spirit of camaraderie, each division presented work programs designed to prioritize innovation, collaboration, and benefits for students. All proposals were then comprehensively reviewed to ensure alignment with the direction of student development at the UMI Faculty of Medicine.

It is hoped that this RAKER will serve as a strong first step for the 2026–2027 KBMFK UMI executive board in delivering high-quality programs that are adaptable to the times and capable of making a tangible contribution to the advancement of the UMI Faculty of Medicine and the community.

With a spirit of unity and collaboration, KBMFK UMI is committed to continuing to be an active, innovative, and impactful student organization, in line with the UMI Faculty of Medicine’s vision of producing outstanding graduates who possess integrity, leadership qualities, and a spirit of service to the community.
