UMI Faculty of Medicine Conferred Degrees on 118 Medical Graduates, Emphasizing the Commitment to Doctors of Integrity and Compassion

Makassar, December 31, 2025 – The Faculty of Medicine at the Indonesian Muslim University (FK UMI) conferred degrees on 118 graduates during the Senate Meeting for the Graduation Ceremony and the Recitation of the Medical Bachelor’s Oath and the Physician’s Oath, held at the Phinisi Ballroom, Claro Hotel Makassar, on Wednesday (December 31, 2025). This academic ceremony marked the emergence of a new generation of doctors who are expected to be professional, possess integrity, and embody a spirit of humanity.

At this graduation ceremony, the UMI Faculty of Medicine conferred degrees on 11 Bachelor of Medicine (S.Ked) graduates and 107 doctors (dr). The First Vice Dean of the UMI Faculty of Medicine, Dr. dr. Ida Royani, M.Kes., MHPE., FFRI, reported that with this addition, the total number of UMI Faculty of Medicine alumni now stands at 3,406. The Senate meeting was held in a solemn atmosphere and served as a symbol of the students’ transition into the phase of professional service in the health sector.

In line with this, the Dean of the UMI Faculty of Medicine, Dr. dr. Nasrudin AM, Sp.OG(K), Subsp. Obginos., MARS., M.Sc., FISQua., AIFO-K, emphasized that the UMI Faculty of Medicine is committed to producing doctors who are not only academically excellent but also provide tangible benefits to the community. He also expressed his appreciation to the parents for their prayers and sacrifices that have brought the graduates to this stage.

On this occasion, a certificate of appreciation from the President of AMDA Indonesia was presented to UMI’s leadership as a token of appreciation for their collaboration in humanitarian disaster relief efforts in Sumatra and Aceh. The UMI Rector also presented awards to AMDA International, AMDA Indonesia, the leadership of the UMI Faculty of Medicine, and the UMI Volunteer Team for their tangible contributions to humanitarian efforts. These awards underscore the commitment to synergy between educational institutions and humanitarian organizations in providing health care grounded in humanitarian values.
