Makassar, December 12, 2025 — The Faculty of Medicine at the Indonesian Muslim University (FK UMI) has once again demonstrated its role as the command center for national humanitarian missions. Amid efforts to address the massive floods that have struck Medan, Sibolga, and Aceh, FK UMI received a donation of Rp100,000,000 from RSIA Amanat to strengthen medical services for affected communities.
The donation was presented directly by the owner of RSIA Amanat, Dr. dr. Nur Rakhmah, Sp.OG (Subspecialty in Obstetrics and Gynecology), M.Kes, along with the Director of RSIA Amanat, Dr. Amalia Hamzah, Sp.OG, M.Kes, and was received by the Dean of the UMI Faculty of Medicine at UMI Campus II in Makassar. All aid is scheduled to be distributed immediately through the UMI Faculty of Medicine Volunteer Team, which is already on the ground at several disaster sites in Sumatra.
The Dean of the UMI Faculty of Medicine, Dr. dr. H. Nasruddin Andi Mappaware, Sp.OG(K)., MARS., M.Sc., AIFO-K, expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the trust placed by RSIA Amanat in the UMI Faculty of Medicine as a partner in distributing humanitarian aid.
“We deeply appreciate RSIA Amanat’s compassion. This aid not only brings hope to our brothers and sisters affected by the disaster but also strengthens humanitarian collaboration among healthcare institutions. We will immediately distribute these funds to support medical services, health logistics, and the emergency needs of the community in the disaster-stricken area,” he said.
He emphasized that the UMI Faculty of Medicine’s humanitarian mission aligns with the vision of the University of Muslim Indonesia, which emphasizes the values of compassion, solidarity, and tangible benefits for the community and the nation. Currently, the UMI Faculty of Medicine Volunteer Team has been actively providing medical services, health assistance, and logistical support at various affected locations, particularly in Sibolga and Aceh.
Meanwhile, the owner of RSIA Amanat, Dr. Nur Rakhmah, stated that this assistance is a form of compassion for the community currently facing difficult circumstances.
“We’ve been closely following developments on the ground and observing how the UMI Faculty of Medicine Volunteer Team works with such dedication. They act quickly and provide direct assistance. This is what makes us confident that this aid will reach its intended recipients, be delivered faithfully, and be truly beneficial,” she explained.
This act of solidarity underscores that collaboration among healthcare institutions can have a significant impact on communities in need.
