Aceh Tamiang, Monday, December 8, 2025 — A joint medical team from the University of Muslim Indonesia (UMI), the UMI School of Medicine, AMDA, AMSA, IDAI, and Perdatin distributed relief supplies to flood-affected residents in Aceh Tamiang on Monday (December 8, 2025). This aid was the result of a fundraising campaign organized by TBM 110 and the UMI Faculty of Medicine Student Executive Board (BEM FK UMI), with total donations collected amounting to Rp 33,997,000.
The distributed supplies included 15,000 liters of clean water, 250 kg of rice, instant noodles, new clothing, 10 cases of sardines, 4 cartons of diapers, 15 cases of milk, 10 boxes of bottled water, 20 rugs, and 50 blankets, as well as other basic necessities based on on-site conditions. In addition to in-kind aid, there were also donations of clothing and additional funds that will be distributed in the next phase by a follow-up volunteer team.
All aid was distributed to four evacuation centers in the affected areas. Distribution was based on the number of evacuees at each location and coordinated with local authorities to ensure that the aid was distributed evenly and reached the intended recipients.
In addition to the logistics team, a joint medical team was also deployed to provide health services, including general check-ups, treatment for acute conditions, and health education for the evacuees. The teams were divided so that the distribution of aid and the provision of medical services could proceed effectively in parallel.
This disaster response effort is expected to help ease the burden on the people of Aceh Tamiang, who are still struggling to recover from the aftermath of the floods.
