Aceh Tamiang, December 7, 2025 — The Medical Team from the Faculty of Medicine at the Indonesian Muslim University (FK UMI) prepared the first phase of logistical aid distribution for residents affected by flooding in Aceh Tamiang Regency on Sunday (December 7, 2025). This aid is the result of a fundraising campaign conducted by TBM 110 and the Student Executive Board (BEM) of FK UMI as a rapid response to the disaster that struck the region.
The total funds raised amounted to Rp 33,997,000, consisting of a donation from TBM 110 of Rp 21,724,000 and a donation from BEM FK UMI of Rp 12,273,000. In addition to cash assistance, TBM 110 also collected usable clothing and a number of additional donations that will be distributed in the next phase by the second wave of volunteers.
The relief supplies prepared for tomorrow’s distribution include 1,000 liters of clean water, 200 kg of rice, instant noodles, usable clothing, 10 cases of sardines, 4 cartons of diapers, 15 cases of milk, 10 cases of bottled water, 20 rugs, 50 blankets, and other basic necessities. This aid is designed to address the community’s urgent needs, given that most affected areas still face clean water shortages, disrupted logistical access, and many families have lost essential belongings following the floods.
Distribution is being carried out in stages to avoid concentrating efforts at a single relief post and to reach more residents at various evacuation sites. The UMI Faculty of Medicine medical team stated that distribution is based on an assessment of on-the-ground needs previously gathered by volunteers.
This effort is expected to alleviate the burden on the residents of Aceh Tamiang while demonstrating the concern of the UMI Faculty of Medicine’s academic community for the disaster-affected community.
