Jeneponto, November 9, 2025—The Medical Assistance Team (TBM) 110 of the Faculty of Medicine, Indonesian Muslim University (FK UMI) successfully held the 24th Basic Member Education and Training (PPAD) Outdoor Activity on November 7–9, 2025, at the 726th Infantry Battalion/Tamalatea in Jeneponto, South Sulawesi.
This activity is an important part of the development and training process for prospective new members of TBM 110 FK UMI. Over the course of three days, participants were equipped with various basic skills for handling emergency and disaster situations, including earthquake response, emergency first aid (PPGD), and techniques for evacuating victims in difficult terrain.
In addition to honing their physical agility and medical skills, the activity also aimed to build the participants’ character, fostering discipline, resilience, and a strong sense of social responsibility. The participants enthusiastically took part in every session under the guidance of instructors from TBM 110, supported by facilities and supervision from personnel of the 726th Infantry Battalion/Tamalatea.
The Dean of the UMI Faculty of Medicine, Dr. dr. Nasrudin A. Mappaware, Sp.OG(K), MARS, MSc, FISQua, AIFOK, expressed his appreciation for the organization of this event. He emphasized that this type of training is crucial for instilling humanitarian values and medical preparedness among students. “We hope that the PPAD participants will become young doctors who are ready to serve the community with knowledge, empathy, and resilience,” he said.
The event ran smoothly and was a success thanks to the support of the faculty leadership, the associate deans, the supervising faculty members, the 726th Infantry Battalion/Tamalatea, and the entire organizing committee. Through this PPAD program, TBM 110 FK UMI remains committed to producing young medical professionals who are professional, responsive, and deeply committed to humanitarian values to serve the community and the nation.
