Makassar, 2025 – The development of medical science in Indonesia is entering a phase of accelerated growth, driven by innovations in medical technology, improved competency standards, and international academic partnerships. The Faculty of Medicine at the Indonesian Muslim University (FK UMI) is one of the institutions consistently strengthening its contribution, as evidenced by the involvement of its experts in various international scientific forums. One such effort is participation in an academic development and collaboration program hosted by Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), aimed at expanding research networks and enhancing the competitiveness of Indonesian medical education on the global stage.
In the presentation delivered by the Dean of FK UMI, Dr. dr. Nasrudin AM, Sp.OG(K)., Subsp.Obginos., MARS., M.Sc., FISQua., AIFO-K, the focus was on improving the quality of medical and specialist education through an integrated curriculum, competency-based clinical training, and research addressing national health challenges, particularly in maternal and child health. As a leading advocate for quality in medical services and an active academic in international forums, Dr. Nasrudin emphasized that the transformation of medicine must not only address technological and facility aspects but also cultivate doctors of integrity, ethical standards, and Islamic character who are ready to advance the health of the Indonesian nation.
