Makassar, Thursday, October 9, 2025 – The Faculty of Medicine at the Indonesian Muslim University (FK UMI), through its Obstetrics and Gynecology (OBGYN) Specialist Physician Education Program, held a Faculty Meeting and Basic Surgical Skills (BSS) Training. This event was held in collaboration with the Indonesian College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (POGI) and was attended by participants from the UMI OBGYN Specialist Physician Education Center, Hasanuddin University (UNHAS), and Sam Ratulangi University (UNSRAT).

The training aimed to enhance basic surgical skills among OBGYN residents and prospective specialists, covering aseptic techniques, suturing, and basic surgical procedures that form the foundation of clinical practice. In addition to practical sessions, the event also featured a Faculty Meeting that discussed curriculum strengthening, improving the quality of education, and harmonizing training standards among OB/GYN education centers in Eastern Indonesia.

This event serves as a tangible manifestation of collaboration among medical education institutions in producing professional, competent, and ethical OB-GYN specialists. Through the synergy between UMI, UNHAS, and UNSRAT, it is hoped that the quality of education and clinical skills of OBGYN specialists will continue to improve, enabling them to provide the best possible care to the community.
