Makassar, September 29, 2025 – The Faculty of Medicine at the Indonesian Muslim University (FK UMI) hosted a Basic Obstetrics and Gynecology Ultrasound Training Course organized by the Indonesian College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. The training took place over four days, from September 29 to October 1, 2025, in the 12th-floor conference hall and the Mini Hospital at Ibnu Sina YW-UMI Hospital in Makassar.

In her opening remarks, Dr. dr. Trika Irianta, Sp.OG, Subsp. Urogin-Re, Head of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Program at FK UMI, emphasized that all participants should focus on the training and enjoy every aspect of the carefully designed program. Meanwhile, Dr. dr. Nasrudin AM, Sp.OG, Subsp. Obginsos, MARS., M.Sc., FISQua, AIFO-K, Dean of the UMI Faculty of Medicine, expressed his pride that the UMI Faculty of Medicine’s Obstetrics and Gynecology Program had been entrusted to serve as the inaugural training center for Basic Obstetrics and Gynecology Ultrasound by the Indonesian College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

This training includes a series of activities, such as lectures on Basic Obstetrics and Gynecology Ultrasound, hands-on guidance on the use of ultrasound equipment, and an OSCE competency test in Basic Obstetrics and Gynecology Ultrasound. In addition, participants and instructors will also attend a social gathering held at the Claro Hotel in Makassar as a forum for fellowship and networking.

Through this training, it is hoped that participants will enhance their proficiency in basic ultrasound use, thereby providing significant benefits to maternal and child health services in Indonesia.
