Makassar, Thursday, September 18, 2025 – The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) at Alauddin State Islamic University (UIN) Makassar conducted a benchmarking visit to the Faculty of Medicine at the Indonesian Muslim University (FK UMI) to improve the quality of education and standards at medical faculties in Indonesia. This activity aimed to share experiences and best practices in managing high-quality medical education programs grounded in Islamic values.
During this benchmarking visit, FKIK UIN Alauddin Makassar discussed several key topics with FK UMI, including vision and mission, the undergraduate and professional medical curricula, the rotation system and professional examinations, as well as the integration of Islamic values into the curriculum. The UMI Faculty of Medicine presented its process for formulating its vision and mission, curriculum structure, teaching methods, and student assessment system.
Through this benchmarking, the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) at UIN Alauddin Makassar and the Faculty of Medicine (FK) at UMI can improve the quality of medical education and research, as well as enhance the reputation and quality of healthcare services in Indonesia. This activity is also expected to strengthen cooperation between the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FKIK) at UIN Alauddin Makassar and the UMI Faculty of Medicine in the fields of education and research.
