Makassar, August 2025 – Zulfi Zain Al Faruq, a 2022 student in the Faculty of Medicine at the Indonesian Muslim University (UMI) who is also a hafiz of the Qur’an, has successfully passed the pre-national selection and will compete in the 18th National Student Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur’an’an for Students (MTQMN) XVIII 2025 at Lambung Mangkurat University in South Kalimantan from October 6–9. Since 2014, Zulfi has consistently achieved notable accomplishments, ranging from 1st Runner-Up at the National MTQ in Batam, 2nd Place in the 10-Juz Memorization category at the 2019 ASEAN level, to 1st Place in the 20-Juz category at the 2024 Riau Islamic University International MTQ. This consistency has made him one of the young hafiz who not only excels academically but also shines on the national and international stages.
In addition to his achievements, Zulfi is active in various campus organizations such as AMSA UMI, BEM FK UMI, the Forum for Islamic Studies in Medicine, and the Forum for Islamic Medical Studies. For him, the Qur’an is not merely something to be memorized, but a guide for life that constantly accompanies his academic and da’wah journey. With this spirit, Zulfi is now ready to bring honor to the University of Muslim Indonesia at the 2025 National Student MTQ.
