Arabia. Alhamdulillah, four lecturers from the Faculty of Medicine at the Indonesian Muslim University (FK-UMI), Makassar, presented their scientific papers at the 6th International Conference on Quality of Therapy Based on Scientific Research and Innovation in Prophetic Medicine at Mustataqbal University in Qassim Province (January 11–12, 2025). This annual conference was attended by representatives from universities in Saudi Arabia, Europe, and Asia, including one from Indonesia (FK-UMI).
The conference aims to present a comprehensive overview of innovative scientific research, patents, their applications, and their impact on improving health outcomes, enhancing quality of life, and benefiting the pharmaceutical industry to support a sustainable and vital economy. The conference is accredited for 10 continuing education hours by the Saudi Health Specialization Commission.
Prof. Soad Khalil Al Jaouni, Conference Vice President and Scientific Chair of YAJ Application of Prophetic Medicine,Faculty of Medicine, KAU, Jeddah, KSA, said in her opening remarks that she was very pleased with the resumption of this event and hoped that in the future it would achieve even greater success and blessings in the development of Prophetic Medicine in the field of medical science. She also added that she was very happy with the presence of colleagues from Indonesia, particularly from the UMI Faculty of Medicine, who presented papers and posters at this conference.
For the presentation session, the UMI Faculty of Medicine delegated four faculty members to deliver scientific presentations and present posters in accordance with the themes specified by the organizing committee. The presentation session with experts was led by First Vice Dean Dr. dr. Ida Royani, M.Kes, MHPE, on the topic “The Development of Prophetic Medicine in Indonesia,” accompanied by a research study titled “The Antioxidant Effect of Ajwa Dates (Phoenix dactylifera L.) to Inhibit the Progression of Preeclampsia in Pregnant Women through Malondialdehyde as a Serum Prooxidant Marker.” The poster session was led by the Dean, Dr. dr. Nasrudin A.M., Sp.OG(K), MARS, M.Sc., FISQua, AIFO-K, and Dr. dr. Erlin S., Sp.Rad(K), a lecturer in the Department of Radiology. with the title, “The Effects of Ajwa Date Consumption (Phoenix dactylifera L.) on Ovarian Follicular Features as Assessed by Transvaginal Ultrasound in Perimenopausal Women.” as well as Vice Dean IV Dr. dr. Rachmat Faisal Syamsu, M.Kes, FISPH, FISCM, with the title, “The Effectiveness of Olive Oil in Preventing Atherosclerosis.”
Dr. Nasrudin, Dean of the UMI Faculty of Medicine, stated that the UMI Faculty of Medicine fully supports the success of this event. Islamic medicine must consistently demonstrate its presence on the global medical landscape. “Alhamdulillah, at this event, UMI Faculty of Medicine lecturers were once again invited to present scientific papers and posters. This is excellent for the Faculty and the University because this event is international in scope and Islam-based. Barakallahu,” he concluded.
