On Thursday, December 12, 2024, a team from the Faculty of Medicine at the Muslim University (FK-UMI) conducted a benchmarking activity at the Quality Assurance Unit of the Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing at Gadjah Mada University (FK-KMK UGM) in Yogyakarta. The benchmarking activity was led directly by the Dean of FK UMI, Dr. dr. Nasrudin Andi Mappaware, Sp.OG(K), MARS, M.Sc, FISQua, AIFO-K, together with the First Associate Dean, the Study Program Team, and the Quality Assurance Unit within the Faculty of Medicine at UMI. The purpose of this benchmarking activity was to prepare the Faculty of Medicine at UMI for international accreditation. In his opening remarks, the Dean of the UMI Faculty of Medicine expressed his goal to improve the quality of education at the UMI Faculty of Medicine and to soon achieve international accreditation, similar to that already attained by the UGM Faculty of Medicine and Public Health (FK-KMK). The UMI Faculty of Medicine team was welcomed directly by the Assistant Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs at the UGM Faculty of Medicine and Public Health, Dr. Yoyo Suhoyo, M.Med.Ed., Ph.D., along with the Quality Assurance Unit team and the head of the UGM FK-KMK Quality Assurance Unit, Dr. Yudha, Ph.D. In his remarks, he noted that the UGM Faculty of Medicine and Public Health (FK-KMK) has a proven track record and extensive experience in obtaining international accreditation, as well as graduates who have pursued careers and continued their studies at the international level.

In addition, the Dean of the UMI Faculty of Medicine said in his remarks that the UMI Faculty of Medicine wishes to further explore the steps that can be taken and improvements that can be made to meet the criteria required for international accreditation. During the event, the UMI Faculty of Medicine team received a direct briefing from the quality assurance unit of the UGM Faculty of Medicine and Public Health, led by Dr. Yudha Nurhantari, Sp.F.M., Ph.D. regarding the preparations needed and examples of criteria that must be met to achieve international accreditation.

The Dean of the UMI Faculty of Medicine, along with the Chair of the Obstetrics and Gynecology (OBGIN) Specialist Physician Education Program at the UMI Faculty of Medicine, Dr. dr. Trika Irianta, Sp.OG(K), visited the Department of OBGIN and the (PSPD) for OBGIN Specialists at the Faculty of Medicine and Public Health (FK-KMK), UGM, at Dr. Sardjito General Hospital in Yogyakarta as part of efforts to improve the quality of education and human resources at the recently opened PSPD for OBGIN Specialists at the UMI Faculty of Medicine.
