On November 21, 2024, “The 6th International Conference on Halal: Policy, Culture, and Sustainability Issues” was held at the Academy of Islamic Studies, University of Malaya (APIUM) in Malaysia. The event was organized through a collaboration between UMI as the host and the University of Malaya as the co-host. This event is held every two years as part of UMI’s efforts to develop the halal industry, foster international cooperation, and promote the latest innovations involving neighboring countries such as Malaysia, Thailand, Brunei, and South Korea. This time, UMI served as the host and the University of Malaya as the co-host.

At this event, the Dean of the UMI Faculty of Medicine (FK UMI), Dr. dr. Nasrudin AM, Sp.OG, Subsp.Obginsos, MARS, M.Sc., FISQua, AIFO-K, along with 13 faculty members, participated in a seminar titled “Halal for Health: The Role of the Halal Industry in Global Well-Being” and presented several research findings in the form of oral presentations, namely:

  9. Dr. Wisudawan, M.Kes., Sp.JP-FIHA: The Effect of Cardio Training and Resistance Training Methods on Fitness Levels in Individuals with Concentric LVH and/or Grade I Diastolic Dysfunction
  10. Dr. Moch Erwin Rachman, M.Kes., Sp.S(K): Analysis of the Short-Term Effect of Wudhu’ on Blood Pressure Changes in Normotensive Adults

Praise be to God, one of the faculty members at the UMI Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Farah Ekawati, M.Biomed, and her team (FARAH EKAWATI MULYADI, BERRY E. HASBI, NASRUDDIN A. MAPPAWARE, IDA ROYANI, ERLIN SYHARIL, MUHAMMAD YUSUF ASHADIN AHMAD, RAISHA APRILIANI) successfully received the AWARD for BEST PRESENTER at this event.

“We hope that this international collaboration will not remain merely a concept but will be realized through teaching and research activities. This is part of our effort to realize the vision of the university and the Faculty of Medicine to become world-class institutions,” stated the Dean of the UMI Faculty of Medicine.
