Makassar, November 8, 2024 – On Friday, November 8, 2024, a coordination meeting was held between the Medical Faculty Management of Sains University (MSU) Malaysia and the medical faculties affiliated with the Indonesian Association of Medical Education Institutions (AIPKI) Region 6. The meeting was attended by AIPKI officials, as well as deans and associate deans of medical faculties from several universities in Indonesia, namely:

  1. Faculty of Medicine, Hasanuddin University (FK UNHAS), Makassar
  2. Faculty of Medicine, Halu Oleo University (FK UHO), Kendari
  3. Faculty of Medicine, Tadulako University (FK UNTAD), Palu
  4. Faculty of Medicine, Cenderawasih University (FK UNCEN), Papua
  5. Pattimura University Faculty of Medicine (FK UNPATI), Ambon
  6. Khairun University School of Medicine (FK UNKHAIR), Ternate
  7. Faculty of Medicine, Indonesian Muslim University (FK UMI), Makassar
  8. Faculty of Medicine, Muhammadiyah University of Makassar (FK UNISMUH)
  9. Bosowa University School of Medicine (FK UNIBOS), Makassar
  10. Al KHAERAAT University School of Medicine (FK UNISA), Palu

Representing MSU and leading the meeting were the MSU Rector, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, the Dean of Pharmacy, the Dean of Community Affairs, the Director of the Research Center, and other staff members.

At the meeting, both parties agreed to establish a mutually beneficial partnership through several key initiatives, including:

  1. A student exchange program recognized by both parties, aimed at broadening students’ academic horizons and providing them with international experience.
  2. This collaboration also includes a faculty exchange program in the field of education.
  3. Collaboration on joint research projects that can lead to scientific publications and significant contributions to the field of medicine.
  4. Faculty Development / Doctoral Studies for faculty members.
  5. MSU Malaysia and the AIPKI Region 6 Faculty of Medicine will conduct guest lectures in the form of seminars, workshops, and training sessions.
  6. This collaboration also includes the exchange of academic materials and information.
  7. Both parties will promote and expand other mutually agreed-upon academic collaborations in the future.

It is hoped that this collaboration will open up broader opportunities for the development of high-quality medical education in Indonesia and Malaysia, as well as strengthen academic ties between the two countries.
