Makassar, fk.umi.ac.id - The Faculty of Medicine at the Indonesian Muslim University (FK UMI) held an open senate meeting for the graduation ceremony of medical undergraduates and the administration of the medical undergraduate oath, as well as the graduation ceremony for medical doctors and the administration of the medical doctor’s oath, on Monday (September 30, 2024)
The event was opened by the Rector of the Indonesian Muslim University, represented by the Third Vice Rector of the University of Indonesia, Hj. Nur Fadhilah Mappaselleng, SH., MH., Ph.D. The open senate meeting for the medical bachelor’s degree conferment was attended by 5 (five) medical bachelor’s students, while the medical doctor degree conferment was attended by 53 (fifty-three) medical professional students.
The event also included the presentation of a Decree (SK) appointing Dr. dr. Rachmat Faisal Syamsu, M.Kes, CCLS, CTRS, CCHS, FISPH, FISCM, as Senior Lecturer in the field of Public Health Nutrition.
The next part of the program was the presentation of awards to outstanding faculty members and students. The outstanding faculty members recognized at this event were Dr. dr. Nasrudin A. M, Sp.OG, Subsp.Obginsos, MARS, M.Sc, FISQua, AIFO-K, and Dr. Muh. Wirawan Harahap, MARS, Sp.An-TI, FISQua, AIFO-K, for winning the Best Presentation award at ICPMM 2024: the XVIII International Conference on Pain Medicine and Management in Istanbul, Turkey.
The high-achieving students who received recognition were Indah Sri Rejeki and Nur Amaliyah Rezki Zairah, who won Gold Medals at the Regional Medical Olympiad (RMO) held at the Faculty of Medicine, Muhammadiyah University of Surabaya. In addition to academic achievements, notable accomplishments were also made in non-academic fields, including Nurhidayah Sidang—a 2021 Hafidzah student at the UMI Faculty of Medicine—who won the Runner-Up Prize in the 30-Juz Recitation Category, and Kamil Hidayat —a 2023 Hafidz student at the UMI Faculty of Medicine—who won 2nd Place in the Da’i-Da’iyah Category; and Zulfi Zain Alfaruq —a 2022 Hafidz student at the UMI Faculty of Medicine, who won First Place in the 20-Juz Memorization Category at the Riau Islamic University International MTQ Competition in Pekanbaru.
