WEST SULAWESI, — The Faculty of Medicine at the Indonesian Muslim University (FK UMI) held a roadshow and practice test in Central Mamuju, West Sulawesi, on September 21, 2024, starting at 9:00 a.m. WITA. The event took place in the Regent’s Office Auditorium and successfully attracted approximately 95 students from 10 high schools and Islamic high schools across Central Mamuju Regency.

The roadshow fostered a warm and enthusiastic atmosphere. This event not only served to promote the UMI Faculty of Medicine but also provided prospective students with the opportunity to take part in a practice exam organized by FK UMI. This practice exam was designed to give students a clear picture of the medical school entrance exam and help them prepare more effectively.

The Dean of UMI’s Faculty of Medicine, Dr. dr. H. Nasrudin A Mappaware, Sp.OG(K)., Subsp Obginsos., MARS., M.Sc., FISQua., AIFO-K, emphasized the importance of integrating medical science with Islamic values. “The UMI Faculty of Medicine is committed to producing graduates who excel in the field of medicine while also possessing a strong moral foundation. We believe that this combination will make a positive contribution to public health services,” he stated.

During this event, the UMI Faculty of Medicine also focused on student personal development. Through various extracurricular programs and community service initiatives, students are given the opportunity to explore their talents and interests, thereby developing relevant skills alongside in-depth medical knowledge.

The event was also attended by the Head of the Central Mamuju Regency Education Office, Mr. H. Busdir, S.Pd., M.M., as well as representatives from the Central Mamuju PKK (Family Welfare Movement), health workers, the Health Office, and the Education Office. The extraordinary enthusiasm of the participants and the positive support from the local government reflected the success of this event.

“I am very grateful for this event, especially for us high school students who are preparing to continue our education,” said one of the students participating in the practice test.

Through this event, the UMI Faculty of Medicine not only provided valuable information and experience to prospective students but also reinforced its commitment to producing high-quality doctors who are ready to serve the community with strong moral values.

Additionally, as part of efforts to improve the quality of healthcare services in the West Sulawesi region, the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Muslim Indonesia (FK UMI) conducted a visit to the Mamuju Tengah Regional General Hospital. This activity is part of a strategic partnership between the UMI Faculty of Medicine and the Mamuju Tengah Regional General Hospital aimed at optimizing medical services and health education.

The visit, which took place on September 21, 2024, was attended by the Dean of FK UMI, Dr. dr. H. Nasrudin A Mappaware, Sp.OG(K)., Subsp Obginsos, MARS., M.Sc., FISQua, AIFO-K, along with a number of medical specialists and students. In his remarks, Dr. Nasrudin emphasized the importance of collaboration between medical education institutions and hospitals as a means to produce high-quality medical personnel. “This collaboration will not only enhance students’ skills but also assist the hospital in providing better healthcare services to the community,” he stated.

During the visit, the UMI Faculty of Medicine team conducted an assessment of healthcare facilities, patient management, and ongoing programs at the Mamuju Tengah Regional General Hospital. This activity is expected to yield recommendations for the development and improvement of more optimal healthcare services.

The Director of Mamuju Tengah Regional General Hospital also welcomed this collaboration. “We are very grateful to the UMI Faculty of Medicine for its support and collaboration. With this synergy, we are confident that we can improve the quality of healthcare services in this region,” he explained.
