Makassar, fk.umi.ac.id - The Indonesian Muslim University (UMI) received a Decree from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology regarding the launch of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Specialist Medical Education Program (PSPDS Obgin). The Decree was presented by Dr. Andi Lukman, Head of the Regional Office IX of the National Institute for Higher Education (LLDIKTI), on Monday (August 12, 2024).

Following up on this decision, the Faculty of Medicine at the Indonesian Muslim University (FK UMI) moved quickly to open registration for new students in the PSPDS Obgin program. The response was overwhelming; within just 7 (seven) days of registration, the interest from prospective students in FK UMI was extraordinary. A total of 16 applicants from various provinces across Indonesia have registered. This year’s admission quota is set at 5 students.

The registration process for new Obgin PSPDS students consists of eight selection stages. The initial stage following registration is the document screening process. Four applicants were eliminated at this stage. Consequently, 12 candidates advanced to the next series of tests.

The series of tests began on Tuesday (August 27, 2024). The first test—a medical examination—was conducted at the Ibnu Sina YW-UMI Teaching Hospital; the second test—the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI) to assess the personality and psychopathology of prospective students—was held in Room 501 of the Old Building of the UMI Faculty of Medicine. On the second day, Wednesday (August 28, 2024), the third test—a Computer-Based Test (CBT) on Basic Knowledge of Obstetrics and Gynecology—was held in the CBT Room on the 4th floor of the Old Building of the UMI Faculty of Medicine, followed by the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) in the same room.

The culmination of the selection process took place on Thursday (August 29, 2024), featuring the Interview and the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE), which were administered directly by the leadership of the UMI Faculty of Medicine together with OB/GYN specialists from the faculty, at the CST Room in the Mini Hospital on the 6th floor of the New Building of the Ibnu Sina YW-UMI Teaching Hospital.

Once the entire selection process is complete, the results will be announced on Saturday, July 31, 2024, via the admisi.umi.ac.id website.
