The Faculty of Medicine at the Indonesian Muslim University (FK UMI) held a workshop on the development of the Strategic Plan (Renstra) and Operational Plan for 2024–2028 on Tuesday, August 20, 2024. The event took place in Meeting Room RK 501 on the 5th floor of the FK-UMI building in Makassar.
The Rector of UMI, Prof. Dr. H. Sufirman Rahman, SH., MH., opened the event. He was accompanied by Prof. Dr. H. Hambali Thalib, SH., MH., Chair of the Law and Educational Development Division at YW-UMI, and Dr. dr. H. Nasrudin Andi, Sp.OG(K), MARS, M.Sc, FISQua Mappaware, Dean of the UMI Faculty of Medicine.
In his remarks, the Rector emphasized the importance of realizing the vision of a “World-Class University,” a goal long championed by UMI’s previous leaders. He highlighted the university’s concrete efforts through the internationalization of the Tridharma of Higher Education, which must be understood by the entire UMI academic community.
Dr. Nasrudin Andi Mappaware, Sp.OG(K), MARS, M.Sc, FISQua, Dean of the UMI Faculty of Medicine, explained that this workshop will discuss the draft Strategic and Operational Plan for the UMI Faculty of Medicine for 2024–2028. The event will also involve various stakeholders, including representatives from network hospitals, community health centers, alumni, institutional administrators, and UMI Faculty of Medicine students.
The Dean of the UMI Faculty of Medicine also expressed his appreciation for the support provided by the foundation and the university administration toward the faculty’s development. In addition to undergraduate and professional medical programs, the UMI Faculty of Medicine now also offers specialist programs and plans to launch a master’s program in Biomedical Sciences.
This workshop is a follow-up to the Internal Quality Audit that was previously conducted, and it is hoped that it will serve as a forum for productive discussion regarding the future development of the UMI Faculty of Medicine.
