The Faculty of Medicine at the Indonesian Muslim University (FK-UMI) sent a delegation consisting of 14 doctors, 5 faculty members, 6 students, and the Dean of FK-UMI to the 40th Anniversary Celebration of the International Conference of the Association of Medical Doctors of Asia (AMDA). The event took place at the Eden Hotel in Denpasar, Bali, on August 17–19, 2024, and was attended by representatives from 11 countries.
The opening ceremony was marked by a joint gong-striking ceremony by the President of AMDA International and the President of AMDA Indonesia. FK-UMI contributed by presenting a video showcasing disaster response activities and a disaster preparedness simulation, which was well-received by conference participants.
During the event, the Bali Declaration 2024 MOU was signed, and new leadership for AMDA International and AMDA Indonesia was appointed. Prof. Dr. H. Andi Husni Tanra was appointed as the new President of AMDA International and Prof. Dr. Irawan Yusuf, Ph.D., as Secretary General, while Prof. Dr. H. Syarifuddin Wahid from UMI was elected as the new President of AMDA Indonesia.

AMDA International presented certificates of appreciation to various parties, including the UMI Faculty of Medicine, for disaster response efforts in Indonesia. In return, the UMI Faculty of Medicine also presented awards to the outgoing President of AMDA International and the outgoing President of AMDA Indonesia.
The Dean of FK-UMI hopes this event will strengthen international cooperation between FK-UMI and medical institutions in various countries.
