UMI Faculty of Medicine Holds Entrance Exams for Prospective Students for the 2024/2025 Academic Year

Makassar, fk.umi.ac.id -- The Faculty of Medicine (FK) at the Indonesian Muslim University (UMI) held the entrance exam for prospective new students (CAMABA) for the 2024/2025 academic year on Wednesday, July 24, 2024.

The CAMABA exam was conducted online from the Prof. dr. H. Abd. Razak Datu, Ph.D. Auditorium on the 2nd floor of the UMI Faculty of Medicine. The selection exam consisted of a Basic Ability Potential Test (TPKD) and an Academic Potential Test (TPA).

Present to monitor the exam in person were the Chair of the YW-UMI Board, Prof. Dr. Hj. Masrurah Mokhtar, MA; the Rector of UMI, Prof. Dr. H. Sufirman Rahman, SH., MH.; the Vice Rectors of UMI; the Heads of UMI’s Institutions, the Head of the UMI Academic Bureau, the Head of UMI’s Public Relations, Protocol & Cooperation Office, and the leadership of the UMI Faculty of Medicine.

In his remarks, the UMI Rector stated that today’s Basic Aptitude Test and Academic Aptitude Test for prospective new students of the UMI Faculty of Medicine are part of the stages established by the committee for the 2024 UMI Faculty of Medicine new student admissions process. He also explained the affirmative action admission system, which aims to accommodate the diversity of prospective students and recognize the potential of those who truly meet the requirements.

The Dean of the UMI Faculty of Medicine reported that these selection exams would be held over three days: the first day for the Basic Aptitude Test (TPKD) and Academic Aptitude Test (TPA), the second day, July 26, 2024, featured the IQ and psychological tests; and the third day, July 17, 2024, consisted of the health examination, which included a physical exam, drug screening, and color blindness test. The results will be announced on July 31, 2024.

Admission for new students at the UMI Faculty of Medicine has three pathways: the Pre-Regular Pathway—which consists of the Invitation, Achievement, and Hafidz tracks—the Regular Pathway, and the Affirmative Action Pathway, for which the quotas will be determined later by university leadership.
