The Association of Private Medical Schools in Indonesia (AFKSI) held its National Working Meeting (Rakernas). The event took place from Friday to Sunday (July 12–14) on the 7th floor of Building B at the Faculty of Medicine (FK) of Swadaya Gunung Jati University (FK UGJ) and at the Luxton Hotel in Cirebon. Speakers at the Rakernas included representatives from the Ministry of Health, UNISBA, UMI, UGM, UNHAS, and several other institutions. Participants came from private medical faculties across Indonesia.The Dean of FK UGJ, Dr. Catur Setiya Sulistiana, MMed Ed, stated that developments in the health sector must respond to advancements in the field of medicine, including those at private medical faculties. Therefore, this National Conference can serve as a starting point for private medical faculties to collaborate in delivering high-quality medical education in line with these conditions. AFKSI Chair, Dr. H. Artha Budi Susila Duarsa, M.K.E.S., opened the event with his remarks, stating, “The theme of this National Working Meeting at the UGJ Faculty of Medicine in Cirebon is synergy and adaptation in innovative medical education policies. We hope that this National Working Meeting will actively discuss various developments in medicine.”
The UMI Faculty of Medicine was represented by a three-person delegation: Dean Dr. Nas attended as AFKSI Vice Chair and a National Conference speaker, while Vice Deans III and IV attended as conference participants. Dr. Nas stated that this National Working Meeting addressed very important themes, particularly current issues in medicine such as hospital-based care, having one’s own hospital, physician competency exams, and program-based assessment. “God willing, this will be beneficial for each institution in the future. May God bless you all,” he concluded.
