Makassar, fk.umi.ac.id - The Malaysian government, through the Malaysian Embassy in Indonesia, has reaffirmed its support for the Indonesian Muslim University (UMI) as a world-class institution of higher education.
This was conveyed directly by the Malaysian Ambassador to Indonesia, Dato' Syed Mohamad Hasrin bin Tengku Hussin, during a meeting with UMI leadership at the Malaysian Embassy in Indonesia, located at Jalan H. R. Rasuna Said, Kuningan, South Jakarta, on Thursday, January 18, 2024.
The UMI delegation consisted of UMI Rector Prof. Dr. H. Sufirman Rahman, SH, MH; First Vice Rector, Dr. Ir. H. Hanafi Ashad, MT., IMP., ASEAN Eng., Vice Rector V, Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Muhammad Hattah Fattah, MS, and the Head of Public Relations, Protocol, and Cooperation at UMI, Dr. Hj. Nurjannah Abna, M.Pd
“We have been informed about the cooperation program between UMI and several universities in Malaysia. I pray that the program runs smoothly and benefits both universities as well as the two nations, Indonesia and Malaysia,” said the Malaysian Ambassador to Indonesia, Dato’ Syed Mohamad Hasrin bin Tengku Hussin.
At the same time, UMI Rector Prof. Dr. H. Sufirman Rahman, SH, MH, noted that UMI and Malaysia have long maintained close ties and have collaborated with several educational institutions in Malaysia.
“Together with the Ambassador, we discussed many matters regarding the results of our visits to several universities in Malaysia. Alhamdulillah, they are supportive and the program is proceeding in full. Insha’Allah, the Ambassador will visit UMI in the near future,” he said.
It is known that UMI has collaborated with several educational institutions, including the National University of Malaysia, the University of Malaya, the Islamic Science University of Malaysia, the University of Pahang, and Binaskill Academy.
