Makassar, fk.umi.ac.id - The chair and vice chair of the Indonesian Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology (Obgin), Prof. Andon Hestiantoro and Prof. Dwiyana Ocviyanti, visited the UMI (FK-UMI) in Makassar as part of a workshop and site visit to prepare for the launch of the Ob-Gyn Specialist-1 medical education program.

During the visit, they were welcomed directly by the Chair of the UMI Foundation, the Board of Trustees, and the Rector of UMI. Also in attendance were the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Hasanuddin University (UNHAS) and his staff, who have consistently supported and mentored the UMI Faculty of Medicine, as well as the Dean of the UMI Faculty of Medicine and his staff.

The visit began with a workshop featuring opening remarks, a presentation on the readiness of documents, facilities, and infrastructure, and concluded with a tour of the UMI Faculty of Medicine’s main teaching hospital, Ibnu Sina YW-UMI Hospital in Makassar.

In their remarks, the Chair and Vice Chair of the College expressed their gratitude and praise to the UMI Faculty of Medicine for having followed the proper procedures and for setting an example for other institutions regarding the training of medical specialists.

In fact, they didn’t have to wait long; before returning home, the Chair and Vice Chair of the College issued their recommendation that very same day.

Dr. Nas, Dean of the UMI Faculty of Medicine, was deeply moved. “This is the result of the collective efforts of all components of the UMI Faculty of Medicine and the Teaching Hospital. This is a dream we have long hoped for, and Allah has arranged it in such a beautiful way. Moving forward, we will complete the documentation to submit it in accordance with the regulations and oversee the process until the official launch of this Obstetrics and Gynecology Specialist Program.
