Makassar, fk.umi.ac.id - The Faculty of Medicine at the Indonesian Muslim University (FK UMI) will soon launch a new program: Specialist-1 in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN).
A workshop and site visit by the Indonesian College of Obstetrics and Gynecology team took place in the Dr. Chaeruddin Lakare Senate Room at FK UMI, Jalan Urip Sumoharjo KM.5, Makassar, on Thursday (February 1, 2024).
The event was attended by members of the Indonesian College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, namely Prof. Dr. dr. Andon Hestiantoro, SpOG, Subsp, Fer, MPH, and Prof. Dr. dr. Dwiyana Ocviyanti. SpOG, Subsp, Obginsos, MPH, the leadership of the Hasanuddin University (Unhas) Faculty of Medicine, UMI Rector Prof. Dr. H. Sufirman Rahman, S.H., M.H., Chair of the UMI Waqf Foundation Board Prof. Dr. Hj. Masrurah Mokhtar, MA; Chair of the Supervisory Board of the UMI Waqf Foundation, Prof. Dr. H. Syahrir Mallongi, S.E., M.Si.; and Dean of the UMI Faculty of Medicine, Dr. dr. H. Nasruddin AM., Sp.OG(K)., M.Kes, M.Sc, FISQua.
The Dean of the UMI Faculty of Medicine, Dr. dr. H. Nasruddin AM., Sp.OG(K)., M.Kes, M.Sc, FISQua, said that this study program had been planned for a long time, specifically since 2018.
“After several meetings, Alhamdulillah, today our prayers have shown a ray of hope. May what we do always be in accordance with the will of Allah subhanahu wataʿala,” he said.
“To this day, the synergy between the UMI Faculty of Medicine and the UMI Faculty of Medicine remains strong. This partnership represents a shared commitment to the future development of the Faculty of Medicine,” remarked Dr. Nas.
In his remarks, Prof. Sufirman stated that UMI will strongly support the establishment of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Specialist-1 program at the UMI Faculty of Medicine. This serves as a form of implementing charitable deeds within the community.
He emphasized that with the introduction of the Specialist-1 Obstetrics and Gynecology program, UMI will remain professional, without regard to ethnicity or social group. UMI has proven its identity as a university rooted in Islamic values.
