A research team from the Ajwa Department of the UMI Faculty of Medicine successfully won the Certificate of Best Abstract at the 5th International Conference on Quality and Evidence-Based Prophetic Medicine in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
The team members are Dr. Farah Ekawati Mulyati, M.Biomed, whose research was titled “The Effect of Ajwa Dates (Phoenix dactylifera L) on Anti-Müllerian Hormone (AMH) Levels in Perimenopausal Women," supervised by Prof. Dr. Rosdiana Natsir, Ph.D., Sp.Biok; Dr. H. Nasrudin A. Mappaware, Sp.OG(K), MARS, M.Sc; Prof. Dr. dr. Suryani As’ad, M.Sc, Sp.GK(K); Prof. Dr. dr. Andi Wardihan Sinrang, MS; and Dr. dr. Liong Boy Kurniawan, M.Kes, Sp.PK(K).
Meanwhile, Dr. Marzelina Karim presented her research titled “The Effect of Administering Ajwa Date Extract (Phoenix dactylifera L) on the Gut Microbiota of Rats on a High-Fat Diet,” supervised by competent advisors. They are Prof. Dr. dr. Nurpudji Astuti, MPH, Sp.GK(K); dr. Agussalim Bukhari, M.Clin.Med, PhD, Sp.GK(K); Dr. Firdaus Hamid, Ph.D, Sp.MK; Dr. Irfan Idris, M.Kes; and Dr. Himawan Sanusi, Sp.PD-KEMD.
The Dean of the UMI Faculty of Medicine, Dr. dr. Nasrudin Andi Mappaware, Sp.OG(K), MARS, M.Sc, FISQua stated that this achievement was the result of collaboration and hard work by the entire research team, as well as the full support of the UMI Rector and his staff, along with the faculty advisors from the Hasanuddin University Faculty of Medicine.
“This achievement inspires the UMI Faculty of Medicine Ajwa Research Team to be even more productive in conducting research and publishing findings related to Ajwa, a nutrient highly recommended by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him),” said Dr. Nasrudin. This activity was supervised by the advisor, who is also the Dean of the UMI Faculty of Medicine, Dr. dr. Nasrudin Andi Mappaware, Sp.OG(K), MARS, M.Sc, FISQua, and the head of the UMI Faculty of Medicine’s Ajwa Research Team, Dr. dr. Ida Royani, M.Kes.
