Makassar, umi.ac.id – The Medical Assistance Team (TBM) 110 of the Faculty of Medicine at the Indonesian Muslim University (UMI) in Makassar, together with the “Ibnu Sina” YW-UMI Hospital, held a community service event in the village of Bacu-bacu, Pujananting Subdistrict, Barru Regency.
The event was named the “TBM 110 KBMFK University of Muslim Indonesia Expedition Social Service.” It took place in Pujananting Subdistrict, the final subdistrict on the border between Barru and Bone Regencies. The event, which took place on January 21–22, 2023, was warmly welcomed and met with enthusiasm by the local community.
The social service activities were carried out at two locations: SDN 158 in Ammerung hamlet and a resident’s home in Ampiri hamlet, Bacu-bacu Village. The target population included residents from three hamlets surrounding the event sites.
The activities carried out by TBM 110 FK UMI included mass circumcision, health checkups, and home visits.
Despite having to travel through remote villages via routes that were extremely rugged and challenging, they successfully performed circumcisions on 29 children and provided health checkups to approximately 60 residents in that remote area.
The community is deeply grateful for humanitarian efforts like this, as it takes about 4–5 hours to reach these hamlets from the main road in Barru.
