Makassar, umi.ac.id – Medical Assistance Team (TBM) 110 of the Faculty of Medicine at the Indonesian Muslim University (UMI) in Makassar held a community service event in Pujananting Subdistrict, Barru Regency

The outreach event, organized in collaboration with the UMI PMI Volunteer Corps, was named the 2023 Humanitarian Expedition. It took place in Pujananting Subdistrict, the last subdistrict on the border between Barru and Bone Regencies.
The event, which took place on January 17–18, 2023, was warmly welcomed and met with enthusiasm by the local community.
The activities were carried out at two locations: the Bulo-bulo village health post and a resident’s home in Pasengareng hamlet. The target population included residents from six hamlets surrounding the social service sites.
The activities carried out by TBM 110 FK UMI included mass circumcision and health checkups.
Despite having to travel through remote villages via routes that were extremely rugged and challenging, they successfully circumcised 36 children and provided health checkups to approximately 40 residents in that remote area.
The community is deeply grateful for humanitarian efforts like this, as it takes about 4–5 hours to reach these hamlets from the main road in Pangkep.
