Aiming for "Excellent" Accreditation, UMI’s Faculty of Medicine Holds Curriculum Workshop

Makassar, umi.ac.id – The Medical Education Program at the Faculty of Medicine (FK) of the Indonesian Muslim University (UMI) held a Curriculum Workshop at the Phinisi Hotel Claro in Makassar from December 26 to 27, 2022.

The curriculum workshop featured a panel discussion led by UMI leadership, the Head of the South Sulawesi Provincial Health Office, the Chair of AIPKI Region 6, and the Chair of the Indonesian Medical Association (IDI) in Makassar.

This was followed by a seminar featuring two speakers: Dr. Rr. Titi Savitri Prihatiningsih, MA., M.Med., Rd., Ph.D., and Prof. Dr. Mora Claramita, MHPE., Ph.D., SP.KKLP., followed by a Focus Group Discussion involving all internal and external stakeholders of the UMI Faculty of Medicine.

The event was officially opened by UMI Rector Prof. Dr. H. Basri Modding, SE., M.Si., accompanied by UMI First Vice Rector Dr. Ir. H. Hanafi Ashad, MT., IPM. and UMI Vice Rector III Dr. Nasrullah Arsyad, S.H., M.H., as well as the Dean of the UMI Faculty of Medicine, Dr. dr. Nasruddin, SpOG(K)., M.Kes., MARS., M.Sc.

In his remarks, UMI Rector Prof. Dr. H. Basri Modding, SE., M.Si., stated that the curriculum can change at any time, especially in the age of information technology, which requires us to adapt and adjust so as not to fall behind.

“I am deeply grateful for the progress made by UMI, including the UMI Faculty of Medicine, as the spirit of unity in all activities carried out upholds the concept of togetherness,” said the former Director of the UMI Graduate School, who served two terms.

This Full Professor at the UMI Faculty of Economics and Business also noted that the UMI Rector’s Office will present the “Embracing Smart University” concept to all UMI leadership so it can be realized collectively.

“UMI has prepared guidelines for becoming a ‘Smart University.’ UMI must become a fully digitized institution,” he explained.

With the participation of all FK UMI stakeholders, he hopes they can develop a curriculum capable of addressing the challenges of the current information technology era, through the unity and prayers of the entire FK UMI academic community.
