IKA FK-UMI Holds a Gathering and Periodic National Scientific Conference

The Faculty of Medicine, UMI Alumni Association (IKA FK-UMI) held its 4th periodic national gathering and scientific meeting (SPINAL), which takes place once every two years.

Held at four locations—the Al-Jibra Auditorium at UMI Makassar Campus 2, the Aisyah Hall at the UMI Faculty of Medicine, the OSCE Center Room on the 12th Floor of Ibnu Sina YW-UMI Hospital, and The Rinra Hotel in Makassar from December 23–25, 2022, a series of SPINAL 4 IKA FK-UMI activities took place, including a scientific seminar, workshops, a national convention, a family gathering, an alumni reunion, and the 26th anniversary celebration of the UMI Faculty of Medicine Student Association (KBMFK-UMI).

These events were held under the theme “Achieving Excellence and Islamic Values in the Global Digitalization Competition,” bringing together 24 alumni cohorts from 1992 to 2016 from various regions across Indonesia.

The first separate event was a series of scientific seminars and workshops held on December 23–24, 2022, at the Al-Jibra Auditorium on UMI’s Campus 2.

During these sessions, several case studies and materials spanning various fields of specialization were discussed, presented by experts in their respective fields.

In addition, a general assembly was held to present the Board’s Accountability Report (LPJ), which was read by Dr. dr. Hj. Muji Iswanty, SH, MH, Sp.KK, M.Kes (IKA FK-UMI Chairperson for the 2019–2022 term), followed by the election of the new IKA FK-UMI Chairperson. The event was lively and friendly, attended by 24 delegates from each graduating class from 1992 to 2016, and concluded with the election of Dr. Antariksa Putra Winarno, Sp.PK, as the new Chairperson of IKA FK-UMI.

On a separate occasion, a Family Gathering, Alumni Reunion, and the 26th Anniversary of KBMFK-UMI were held at The Rinra Hotel in Makassar on December 25, 2022.

The event was attended by alumni from every graduating class from 1992 to 2022, with an atmosphere of warmth and camaraderie as one big UMI Faculty of Medicine family.

A highlight of the event was a fashion show competition organized for each generation of alumni in attendance, which was enthusiastically received by the alumni present.

The event concluded with the cutting of a tumpeng to mark the 26th anniversary of KBMFK-UMI, as well as the presentation of certificates of appreciation to outstanding UMI Faculty of Medicine alumni from various fields.
