Two researchers from the Faculty of Medicine at the Indonesian Muslim University (UMI) received international awards at “The 5th International Conference on Quality and Evidence-Based Prophetic Medicine in Abu Dhabi,” United Arab Emirates, for their research on Ajwa dates.The two lecturers are Dr. Farah Ekawati Mulyadi, M.Biomed, and Dr. Marzelina Karim, M.Biomed.
“Both received the Certificate of Best Abstract Award out of 43 participants from various countries at The 5th International Conference on Quality and Evidence-Based Prophetic Medicine in Abu Dhabi, held on October 8–9, 2022,”
This award was given in recognition of the research and publication by Dr. Farah Ekawati Mulyadi, titled “The Effect of Ajwa Dates (Phoenix dactylifera L.) Consumption on Anti-Müllerian Hormone (AMH) Levels in Perimenopausal Women.”
Meanwhile, Dr. Marzelina Karim’s research and publication was titled “The Effect of Administering Ajwa Date Extract (Phoenix dactylifera L.) on the Gut Microbiota of Rats Induced by a High-Fat Diet.”
This international achievement certainly serves as further motivation for the UMI Faculty of Medicine research team to become even more productive in conducting research and publishing studies related to Ajwa dates—a nutrient highly recommended by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
This achievement is also the result of the collaboration and hard work of the entire UMI Faculty of Medicine research team, as well as the support of advisors from the Hasanuddin University Faculty of Medicine and key support from the UMI Rector and his staff.
It is hoped that this achievement will also support the aspirations and vision of the UMI Faculty of Medicine toward achieving “Excellent” Accreditation from LAM PTKES and toward making UMI a world-class university.
