To welcome the new students of 2022, the Faculty of Medicine at the Indonesian Muslim University (UMI) is holding a two-week orientation program.
These classes serve as an introduction to campus life for new students.
This campus orientation was conducted using a hybrid system.
A total of 385 new students from the UMI Faculty of Medicine’s Class of 2022 attended.
Over the course of two weeks, the freshmen participated in lectures and toured the faculty to see all the laboratory facilities.
An International Studium Generale was also held, featuring speakers and professors from three different countries.
The professors included Prof. Marwa M. El Sonbaty from Saudi Arabia; Prof. Hironori Yoshiyama from Japan;
And Prof. Abdul Rashid Bin Abdul Rashid from Malaysia. Also in attendance was the Grand Imam of the Istiqlal Mosque, Prof. KH Nasaruddin Umar.
The Dean of the UMI Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Nasrudin, admitted that he had intentionally invited these international academics.
All of these academics discussed developments in the field of medicine.
In addition, they also motivated the students so that UMI can produce graduates who are internationally competitive.
“We want the 2022 freshmen to be motivated by bringing in speakers of international caliber,” he said.
“The concept of this event was packaged in a spectacular format by the UMI School of Medicine’s Unit Protection House (UPH),” he added. Now, the new students are ready to begin their educational journey at the UMI campus.
