The 2022 WORLD Youth Invention and Innovation Award (WYIIA) is an international competition organized by the Indonesian Young Scientist Association (IYSA), which this year is affiliated with Sunan Kalijaga State Islamic University in Yogyakarta as the host.

The event took place in Yogyakarta from Monday through Friday (August 22–26, 2022).

On this occasion, a team of female students from the Faculty of Medicine at Universitas Muslim Indonesia (UMI)—consisting of Syarifah Fatimah Nissatul Jannah, class of 2020; as well as Andi Irma Yuniar and Nurul Wahidah Yasid, class of 2019, presented their research project titled “The Potential of Sumbawa Herbal Oil-Based Oleogel as a Burn Wound Dressing.”

This research aims to explore the potential of Sumbawa oil as the main ingredient in an oleogel product that can be used as a burn wound dressing.

In this competition, the team from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Muslim Indonesia (UMI) won a gold medal in the Life Science category and received a special award, the “Doza Srekja Macedonia Special Award,” from the country of Macedonia.
